The Business Experience Workshop: II edition, to be held between October 2024 and March 2025, will have the theme “Participating in the present for a more sustainable future”. As in the 23/24 ‘First Edition’ programme, the students will continue to be active social agents, responsible for developing implementation strategies tailored to their themes of choice. The focus of the proposed 4 macro-themes will be sustainability:

1. Cortina and Veneto region studies about tourism de-centralization in connection with the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics. This topic can be expanded to Japan as well, using Osaka Expo 2025 as an important discussion starter;

2. Marketing and living changes for aging society (mutual help students-aged persons, or amplification of market segment 70-90, ...);

3. Communication between Italy and Japan SME (incoming-outgoing): identifying issues and solutions;

4. Further development of 2023/24 themes.

The project, therefore, while also aiming to support the development and employment of the next generation by providing career education to students, especially Japanese language learners, who have suffered from Italy's high unemployment rate and various behavioral restrictions due to the spread of the COVID19, also aims to foster the improvement of a series of both practical and soft skills by conducting business focused workshops. Throughout the BEW, the students will be asked as well to identify opportunities to deepen their understanding of SDGs by researching relevant information in academic papers and in newspaper articles, which will be fundamental to the further development of another major aspect of the BEW project, which is the CAFOSCARI Jisho app. Through the reading and analysis of newspapers they will be collecting relevant words and expressions that will then be translated, revised, and inserted in the CAFOSCARI Jisho database by the BEW team.
