This course explores the concept of intersectionality, focusing on how the different social identities of groups and individuals (based on gender, ethnicity, race, disability, class, sexual orientation, etc.) create unique life experiences and may result in empowerment and privilege for some or discrimination and oppression for others. Through lectures and in-class discussions, students will gain a deeper understanding of systems of power and how they impact individuals and communities.
